New Track in SoCal!

02/04/2015 at 3:30 pm

Preparations are underway for a new track in Garden Grove, CA! It’ll be a joint effort between friends, and any help or support will be appreciated! We’re planning on soft opening the track before April.

RWD, First Steps

I’ve been enjoying CS a lot recently but I might switch back to RWD for a month. There’s been more RWD drivers popping up recently at Super G, and after switching the front end on the GRK RWD I haven’t gotten a chance to tinker around with it much.Tatsuken on GRK RWD

I see people throw around the words KPI and scrub when they talk about knuckles, but trail tends to get left out.

DIB Vertex Setting Memo

I plan to change a bunch of things on the DIB to better suit a low grip surface (Project G). Figured I’d memo a few things and take some pictures in case I need to go back to my old setup.

Since the GRK RWD is slowly starting to drive good on carpet, for memo purposes.

Front Lower Suspension Geometry

I saw a few TN drivers trying it out so I gave it a try. I reused the stock 3.5 RR block that I had lying around and put it in place of the stock FR block. It wasn’t a huge difference but I think it helped the fronts trace the ground more?

Hybrid Knuckles

11/24/2014 at 11:47 am

I managed to get a pair of RE-R Hybrid knuckles from Vertex to use with my DIB. I like the fact that these are swan necked, allowing more wheel clearance and low scrub. But after a week of use, I pulled them off and went back to the TN knuckles.

Both Overdose and Wrap Up sells a 7075 aluminum chassis now, and it’s interesting how stiff chassis are trending now. My guess as to why they’re coming out with super stiff chassis is because of the abundance of springs and suspension components now.

The GRK RWD is sorta done, and it sorta runs now! I have no idea how to drive rwd, and the car has a long ways to go in term of set up as well. I enjoy driving the DIB a lot more so it’ll take a while until I’m happy with this guy.

Damper Rebuild Part 2

I tried something out last month and quite liked the results so here’s a bit more details guide on the うさ足/rabbit feet damper rebuild.
